Questions you should ask your CMM Service Company

Are they in compliance with ANSI / ASME B89.4.1-1997, ANSI / NCSL Z540-1 or the ISO 10012-1 specifications?
Are they ISO-9002 Registered or ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited?
Can they Check, Adjust, Calibrate and Certify your Coordinate Measuring Machine to within the manufacturers' specifications?
Do they use the proper tools and equipment to calibrate and service your machine?
Can they provide you with valid before and after readings to prove their findings?
Are all of their accuracy standards calibrated and fully traceable to the N.I.S.T.?
Do they offer a full line of services including repairs, operator training, CMM parts, styli or accessories and a wide range of software and hardware packages?
Can they provide a complete and up-to-date Calibration/Certification Procedures Manual?

If your present CMM vendor can't answer YES to all these questions, maybe it's time to change your Coordinate Measuring Machine Service Company to someone who can answer YES to all of these questions and more...
