The Importance of a Qualified CMM Vendor

The most important things to a CMM owner or user is to eliminate down time, improve productivity and reduce the operational costs of their machine.

A qualified vender such as Midwest CMM Services can play a vital role for the CMM user in reaching and achieving these goals. During the last few years many of the OEM's have had to reduce their staff by as much as half, thereby affecting their ability to provide service for their customers.

We on the other hand have expanded our force to insure all customers receive top quality service in a very timely manner. We also help our customers achieve their overall goals by providing the products and services they expect.

We listen to our customers requests and define their needs. We work with the customer to outline an approach that is best suited to their needs. The approach taken varies from a standard calibration to preventive maintenance programs.  We offer full service contracts, retrofit systems, operator training, environmental considerations, part program changes, machine reconditioning and even complete CMM replacements. The customer is then allowed to study all of the information and make a decision.

We can only succeed when the customer is satisfied with the results obtained. We provide unbiased information where a conflict arises between accuracy and performance of competing CMMs, by testing a product or products to a uniform standard with uniform test procedures.

There are financial benefits that can be gained when working with a qualified vendor. Beyond the obvious reason of lower service rates and costs, we can recommend solutions that perhaps include using products and services from several different sources. This can include retrofitting competitive machines to a uniform operating system and/or control system. We can also eliminate finger pointing by assuming total responsibility for the product while providing the customer all of the benefits of using one primary operating system. We can also provide complete component repair, where applicable, instead of purchasing new parts. In some cases we can offer a lower cost alternate source for new or remanufactured parts, while still maintaining the original OEM specifications.

Qualified CMM vendors perform a vital role in the manufacturing industry. To the customer, we can reduce or maintain your operating costs and increase your quality and productivity. To the manufacturers , we keep customers happy with the performance and accuracy of their machines, which may lead to future sales through referrals and repeat business.
